Nancy, born on May 22, 1948, in Robinson, Illinois, was the daughter of Paul and Zena Dollahan. In the summer of 1981, she made the significant move to Austin, Texas, where she would establish her home and become a beloved figure in her community.

A Loving Family Matriarch

Affectionately remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy’s greatest joy arose from sharing moments with her family and being there for her loved ones. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and unique ability to foster connections with everyone around her made her a treasured companion.

Nancy actively participated in her church community, where she volunteered for Sunday School, showing her commitment to nurturing others. She was always a strong supporter for her grandchildren, encouraging their endeavors and spending colorful days together during family vacations, including memorable summers at the beach and holiday gatherings at the family ranch.

A Career in Education

In 1987, Nancy joined the Austin Independent School District as a teaching assistant. Over her nearly two-decade career, she dedicated herself to aiding students and supporting her fellow teachers, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many children and colleagues. Nancy retired from her position in 2010, having shared her compassion, patience, and care with those she worked with.

Survived by Her Loved Ones

Nancy is survived by her three children, including Otie Tuttle and wife Lori from Robinson, Illinois; Tim Tuttle and wife Debbie from Taylor, Texas; and Patrick Tuttle and wife Lorry from Georgetown, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of Jacob, Morgan, Payton, Hanna (and husband Zack), Kimberly (and partner Drew), and Jessica. Nancy found infinite joy in her two great-grandchildren, Alan and Ivy.

Additionally, she is survived by her sister Ruth Coultas from Georgetown, Texas, and her brother Larry Staley and wife Pat residing in Port Orchard, Washington, along with sister-in-law Wanda Staley from Robinson, Illinois. Nancy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, including Denise, Christina, Stephen, Michael, Samantha, Lori, and Sheri Jo, along with many beloved friends who became like family, such as the Buchanan and Magee families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Zena Dollahan, and her brother, Gene Staley. Nancy’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to resonate with her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Nancy’s life is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. Family and friends are invited to attend and commemorate the remarkable life of a truly special woman.
