San Antonio, Texas – Bojangles, the popular fast-food chain known for its Southern-inspired menu, is ramping up its expansion across Texas with multiple new locations, including significant openings in San Antonio and Houston. The chain plans to open up to 50 restaurants across Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio as part of its strategy to grow in the Lone Star State.

The new Bojangles location in San Antonio will be established at 3003 SW Military Dr. and will have a footprint of 2,655 square feet. This location is set to begin construction with a projected completion date of February 2026. The outlet will serve Bojangles’ popular menu items like buttermilk biscuits, chicken tenders, and sandwiches while offering a streamlined selection of best-sellers. The San Antonio menu will also feature signature sides such as pinto beans, mac ‘n’ cheese, and Bo-Tatos, which are a unique combination of hashbrowns and tater tots.

This new store is part of a wider plan to bring multiple outlets to San Antonio, fulfilling a promise made by the fast-food chain. The first San Antonio restaurant opened in 2023 at 8730 Potranco Rd. as part of Bojangles’ Texas expansion. Additionally, plans are underway for a third store in the San Antonio area, although the specific location has yet to be determined.

Bojangles is also making its debut in the Greater Houston area with its first Houston outlet opening on February 4, 2025, at 6719 N. Grand Parkway in Spring. This will mark the brand’s initial entry into one of Texas’s largest metropolitan regions. The Houston restaurant will introduce a menu that includes only boneless chicken, as part of a simplification strategy tailored for new markets. Guests can also expect to see a variety of offerings such as salads, iced coffee, and milkshakes at this location.

Houston will also receive seven additional Bojangles restaurants in the near future, including sites in Cypress, Spring, Tomball, League City, and Webster. This expansion symbolizes the brand’s broader efforts to adapt its beloved Southern menu to meet the tastes of Texas customers.

Bojangles originated in 1977 and has since grown to encompass 818 locations worldwide, including in countries like Honduras. The chain has cultivated a reputation based on its distinctive Southern cuisine, which focuses on comfort food that resonates with many regional preferences.

The latest initiatives to open new restaurants in Texas are part of Bojangles’ ongoing commitment to providing its signature flavors to more customers while responding to local tastes. The chain aims to establish itself not only as a staple in the fast-food segment but also as a beloved option for families and individuals seeking quick, hearty meals inspired by Southern traditions.
