Burglary Investigation Uncovers Stolen Items
In a separate investigation, Cedar Park Police reported significant developments related to an ongoing burglary case. Authorities recovered hundreds of stolen items from a remote trailer property, which were linked to this investigation. The initiative began when a burglary victim discovered their stolen property listed on the mobile trading app Letgo.
To retrieve the stolen items, the police’s Organized Crime Unit executed a sting operation. During this operation, detectives identified a couple as the primary suspects, who had been tracked previously for a series of burglaries in the Cedar Park area.
Law Enforcement Action
On the same night as the sting operation, the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and SWAT executed a search warrant in the 14000 block of Quail Court located in rural Travis County. The authorities recovered tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen items. These included a wide variety of goods, such as electronics, jewelry, clothing, antiques, bicycles, and tools.
Law enforcement arrested two individuals in connection with the recovered items. Addison Mullins, 27, faces charges for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of burglary of a building. Richard Orr, 33, was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and one count of burglary of a building. Both suspects are currently held at Travis County Jail, with additional charges expected to be filed.
Ongoing Investigations and Community Collaboration
Investigators have indicated that the couple primarily targeted storage units in apartment complexes, raising concerns about the potential impact on community safety. Due to the extensive nature of the recovered items, Cedar Park Police are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies across Texas. This collaboration aims to connect stolen items to the appropriate victims, with some items potentially linked to cases dating back to 2015.
Residents with information about the recovered property are encouraged to reach out to Detective Anthony Bridgewater at 512-260-4886, as law enforcement continues to resolve these cases and ensure the safety of Cedar Park and surrounding areas.
