The state has allocated an additional $100 million, increasing the funding to a total of $300 million every two years, extending through 2035. This expanded budget is anticipated to provide cash grants of up to $1.5 billion to film and television productions over the next decade, further enhancing Texas’s appeal as a destination for filmmakers.

Mike Berry, president of Hillwood, noted that this project has the potential to create numerous jobs and provide skills training in the film industry, solidifying the state’s position in entertainment production. The facilities at the SGS Studios campus will be equipped with modern amenities, including HVAC systems, wardrobe spaces, and greenscreen capabilities, facilitating a wide array of production needs.

As productions begin, filming for the second season of “Landman” has already started at the new facility, demonstrating the prompt utilization of the space for creative works. The Fort Worth Film Commission has taken an active role in promoting the area as a film-friendly location, having previously supported over 1,000 projects, generating an economic impact of approximately $700 million.
