Georgetown, TX – Glenda Mae Carter Simank, a beloved member of the Georgetown community, peacefully passed away at the age of 82 on July 3, 2025. She spent her final moments surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home, receiving care from the compassionate staff at Austin Hospice.
Born to Jewel and Alton Carter in Georgetown in 1942, Glenda was a dedicated individual who graduated from Georgetown High School. She devoted 35 years of her professional life to Southwestern Bell and AT&T, where she established herself as a hardworking employee. In addition, she served as an aide on special needs buses for the Georgetown Independent School District (GISD), a role in which she made a positive impact on many children’s lives through her commitment and kindness.
Glenda leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her three children: Brent Keese, who is engaged to Penny Creed; Stephanie Simank Pavlasek, a mother of two, Dustin and Leslie Pavlasek, whose father is Wayne Pavlasek; and Johnny Carter Alton Simank. Her memory will also be cherished by her two nieces, Carolyn Burson Dunk and Julie Burson McCammon, along with their families.
Glenda was preceded in death by a baby brother, James Carter; both her parents; a sister, Nelda Carter Burson; her brother-in-law, Charles “Hoss” Burson; and their son, Scott Burson. Her passing marks a significant loss to her family and friends, who remember her for her resilience and nurturing spirit.
Visitation for friends and family is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home & Crematorium, located at 5600 Williams Dr., Georgetown, TX 78633. The funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, July 10, at 10:00 a.m., also at the same venue. Following the service, Glenda will be laid to rest at Oddfellows Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
Glenda Mae Carter Simank’s presence will be deeply missed by her community, which she actively contributed to both personally and professionally over many years. Her legacy of dedication, family values, and love for those she cared for will be remembered by all who knew her.
