Dennis Swanda, aged 88, passed away on August 22, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas. Born on April 11, 1937, in Bramand, Nebraska, he was the son of Methodious and Agnes (Helman) Swanda. Dennis grew up immersed in education, attending Holy Trinity Grade School and Brainard High School, followed by the University of Nebraska.

On August 29, 1959, he married Janet Slama at St. Anthony Church in Columbus, Nebraska. Dennis served in the Army at the Siegelsbach Army Depot in Germany, where he exemplified duty and dedication to his country. Following his military service, he had a successful career as a mechanical sales engineer, working for Nebraska Boiler Company and later Deltak Boiler Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Survived by his wife Janet, daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Jeff Stang, and three grandchildren—Adam Swanda, Katie and Paul Racine—Dennis was also the proud great-grandfather of Logan Racine. He is also survived by his sister Maxine and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons Greg and Steve, along with several siblings.

A passionate fly fisherman, Dennis enjoyed tying flies, golfing, and was well-known for his exceptional handyman skills. Friends and family remember him as a loving husband, caring father, and a person with a remarkable sense of humor.

Visitation and Funeral Details

Visitation for Dennis will take place at 5 p.m. on September 18, 2025, at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on September 19 at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Andice, Texas. He will be buried at the Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery in Wayzata, Minnesota, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to organizations such as the American Cancer Society or the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Society of America.

Rodolfo “Rudy” Delgado’s Remarkable Journey

Rudy enlisted in the Navy in 1952, serving honorably as a Lieutenant, Junior Grade, aboard the USS Wedderburn during the Korean War. He and Julieta (Julie) Aguilera married in 1967 in Mexicali, Baja California, and they shared two sons, Esteban and Efren.

Rudy had a career in farm equipment sales and international trade, later moving to Georgetown, Texas, in 2007. He was known for his love of family, friends, and life, often entertaining them with his infectious smile. After surviving a heart attack in July, he sadly passed shortly thereafter.

Rudy’s Survivors and Memorial Donations

Rudy is survived by his wife Julie, sons Esteban and Tiana, Efren and Anzhela, and grandchildren Alexandra and Aidan from Dallas, and Colt from Lake Forest, California. His sister Josefina Story lives in Sacramento, California, along with many other relatives.
