The store operates from noon to 8 PM Sunday through Thursday, and from noon to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Co-owners Amber Kurkowski and Michelle Baran are eager to cater to local customers with a selection of products that are made in-store, ensuring freshness and quality. Daily production of fresh fudge and caramel corn adds to the charm of the Kilwins experience, promising irresistible flavors that are sure to delight residents and visitors alike.

Amber Kurkowski articulated her excitement regarding the store opening, expressing her long-standing anticipation for sharing Kilwins’ delectable treats with the Georgetown community. Michelle Baran, a resident of Georgetown for 27 years, articulated her aspiration to contribute positively to the local scene through this venture. Both owners have strong community ties that enhance their commitment to local engagement.

Construction for the Kilwins store commenced in August 2021, with an expected completion date by the end of September. The owners meticulously crafted the space to feature an open kitchen, allowing customers to observe the treat-making process, thereby creating an interactive shopping experience.

Amber Kurkowski brings a unique background to the business with her previous military service as a Military Police Captain, including two tours in Iraq. She is also a graduate of the United States Military Academy. Together with her husband, she has been a resident of Georgetown for a decade, where they own an engineering firm. Michelle Baran, who moved to Georgetown in the seventh grade, is likewise invested in the community, being a part-owner of a civil engineering and development firm.

Aside from their entrepreneurial roles, both women are actively involved in local initiatives. Amber is connected with the Rotary Club and has a passion for animal welfare, being associated with a nonprofit equine sanctuary. These activities reinforce their dedication to the Georgetown community beyond their business endeavors.

To celebrate the grand opening, Kilwins invited the community to sample various treats including their signature fresh fudge, Toasted Coconut Ice Cream, and Caramel Apples.
