Texas – Texas Roadhouse has announced that Chief Financial Officer Chris Monroe is no longer with the company, effective June 10, 2025. Monroe, who joined Texas Roadhouse on June 28, 2023, played a significant role during a period of remarkable growth for the company.

CEO Jerry Morgan expressed gratitude for Monroe’s nearly two years of service and wished him well as he transitions back to Texas. Under Monroe’s leadership, Texas Roadhouse achieved impressive financial results, generating $5.5 billion in sales in 2024 and establishing itself as the largest casual dining chain in the United States by sales. At the end of 2024, the company operated approximately 665 locations across the country.

During Monroe’s tenure, Texas Roadhouse reported an average unit volume of $8.5 million, which is nearly double that of its closest competitors in the casual dining steakhouse category, as indicated by data from Technomic. This growth outpaced many other chains within the industry, allowing Texas Roadhouse to continue its momentum even in the face of challenges impacting the casual dining market.

In the interim, the company has appointed Keith Humpich to serve as interim CFO. Humpich, who is the Vice President of Finance at Texas Roadhouse, boasts over 30 years of experience in accounting, audit, and finance. He previously stepped into the CFO role from January 2023 to June 2023, showcasing his readiness to lead the company through this transition as it seeks a permanent successor.

Humpich joined Texas Roadhouse in February 2005 as the Director of Internal Audit and has since been promoted to several key positions within the company, including Senior Director and Vice President of Finance in 2021. In his current role, Humpich oversees various financial operations, including financial reporting, tax, treasury, internal audit, and financial analysis. He has also been serving as the Principal Accounting Officer since January 2023.

To assist in the search for a permanent CFO, Texas Roadhouse has engaged the services of an executive search firm, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring a smooth leadership transition. The company remains focused on continuing its impressive performance amidst challenges that other casual dining chains face.

Texas Roadhouse has consistently outperformed its competitors, solidifying its place as a leader in the casual dining sector. As the company looks ahead, it aims to maintain its growth trajectory and uphold the high standards of financial leadership that have contributed to its success thus far.

This leadership shift marks a significant moment for Texas Roadhouse, which has enjoyed success under Monroe’s financial stewardship and is poised to continue thriving in the competitive landscape of the casual dining industry.
