The Georgetown community mourns the loss of beloved firefighter Kurt Lentz, who passed away at 33 following a motorcycle accident on April 11, 2025. The incident occurred on Highway 29 as Lentz was returning home after his shift. Despite wearing a helmet, he sustained critical injuries and did not survive. In the charming community of Georgetown, residents are coming to grips with the heartbreaking news of the untimely passing of beloved firefighter Kurt Lentz, who was just 33 years old. The dedicated firefighter lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred on April 11, 2025, leaving many in the community reeling from the shock.
The tragic incident took place around 9:13 a.m. on Highway 29, located west of Wolf Ranch Parkway. Lentz was making his way home from a shift at the Georgetown Fire Department when the collision happened. Although he was wearing a helmet at the time, he sustained severe injuries that required immediate medical attention. He was swiftly transported to Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly before 10 a.m.
In this unfortunate event, the other driver involved did not seek medical assistance at the scene. As of now, the Texas Department of Public Safety is diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, working to uncover the details that led to this heartbreaking collision.
The Georgetown Fire Department is in mourning, expressing how deeply affected they are by Lentz’s premature death.
